Posters Posters 1 – Acute And Chronic Pain Management P1.1 Attitudes to pain and pain management in post general anaesthesia patients, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University Wanida Sodsee , Wichai Itthichaikultol, Kanokporn Kunawisarut Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand Introduction: It is apparent that pain occurs inevitably to the post‐operative patients. Physical and mental suffering from pain affects tremendously both the patients and their relatives. At present, it is essential that pain assessment be implemented and recorded in addition to temperature, respiration, pulse and blood pressure. Adequate post‐operative pain relief is considered a patient right. Poor post‐operative pain control has adverse physical and psychological effect. Objective: To study the attitudes to pain and pain management in post general anaesthesia patients in the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. Its purpose is to make the pain management effective and also to be a part to strengthen the development of hospital service quality. Methods: Prospective observational study design was used to collect data in 120 patients in Ramathibodi Hospital during June to July 2011. The 120 questionnaires about patients’ knowledge and attitude were asked in elective surgical and obstetric patients.
