[Structural dynamics is a theory that originated in the field of earthquake engineering and computational mechanics (Paz 1990; Clough and Penzien 1993; Chopra 2011; Humar 2012). The major principles of structural dynamics theory relate to discrete and continuous systems subject to mechanical system response to dynamic loads.
