Watershed Physics: Model of the Soil Moisture Characteristic The procedure is proposed by which reasonable estimates of the soil moisture characteristic can be obtained when a reliable curve is not available. Moisture content and pressure at air entry and at 15 bars constitute the required input parameters. The parameters are easily determined and at times can be readily abstracted from literature or estimated from published data.
