In diesem Beitrag werden völlig neuartige Experimente zum Themenfeld Lithium‐Ionen‐Akkumulatoren in Theorie und Praxis vorgestellt. Über eine einfache Lithium‐Ionen‐Batterie mit Graphitminen im Mikro‐Maßstab bis zu einem leistungsfähigen “Lithium‐Ionen‐Power‐Pack” werden verschiedene Typen von Akkumulatoren präsentiert. Erste elektrochemische Kenndaten dieser Akkus lassen sich mit einfachen Mitteln bestimmen. Darüber hinaus wird gezeigt, wie sich die elektrochemisch erzwungene Intercalation von Ionen mit einfachen Experimenten eindrucksvoll nachweisen lässt.
