Epoxide sind anspruchsvolle Alkylierungsreagentien in der Catellani‐Reaktion. Q. Xu et al. die erste Totalsynthese von Astellatol, einem bereits vor drei Jahrzehnten isolierten Naturstoff. Die enantiospezifische Synthese baut das bicyclische Molekülgerüst effizient auf.
