Proceedings of the Human Biology Association 42nd Annual Meeting, The Westin New Orleans Canal... MINUTES OF THE BUSINESS MEETINGTHURSDAY, APRIL 20Carol Worthman, President, called the meeting to order, noting that a quorum was not present. She called for approval of the 2016 Business Meeting minutes, and they were unanimously approved. Worthman then delivered the President's report. She discussed the hiring of Innovative Management Solutions (IMS) as the HBA's management company, and announced that Jason DeCaro would be taking over for Virginia Vitzthum as Treasurer. Worthman also covered the ongoing discussion with the AAPA on our joint meetings, and stated that there would be further conversations as both of our organizations change and adapt. She also asked Dan Brown to speak about the joint HBA‐Japanese Society of Physiological Anthropology conference, held in Hawaii, August 19–20, 2016. Brown said the conference went very well, with 30 presentations and 23 posters, most of which focused on health effects of modernization in Samoa, Vanuatu, and Japan. Both Brown and Worthman suggested that this would serve as a good model for future joint meetings.Virginia Vitzthum presents the Franz Boas Award to Deb CrooksWorthman then opened up the floor for questions and comments, in particular on members' experiences with IMS management.
