I offered to supply interested dermatologists with lists of topical preparations and cosmetics which did or did not contain these substances. Many pharmaceutical and cosmetic firms co-operated with this and over the last 16 years the use of 'Lanolin' and 'Parabens' in the various products has declined, many firms now indicating the content of their preparations. It has not been possible up until now to up-date these lists, but with generous financial support from Dista, I have again compiled such lists. Not all thefirmson the original lists have supplied information this time, but several have indicated their willingness to supply confidential information to dermatologists if they write directly to the firm concerned. Details of such companies are included at the end of the lists. Any interested dermatologist can obtain a copy of the lists for 50p (one only per dermatologist) by writing to:
