Summary Stomach contents of 425 red pandora, collected by bottom trawl off the western coast of Greece (Patraikos and Corinthiakos gulfs and Ionian Sea), have been analyzed. Polychaetes constituted the main food items in the Corinthiakos Gulf and the Ionian Sea, whilst brachyurans in the Patraikos Gulf. Fishes, cephalopods occured only occasionally. Isopods, cumacea, mysids and anisopods represented negligible sources of food. Polychaetes were consumed mainly during winter, whilst brachyurans showed an extreme dominance during the rest of the year. Red pandora exhibited a positive relationship between its length and the length of its prey. In the smaller size classes polychaetes constitued the bulk of the diet; as the size rose, they were replaced by brachyurans.
