It is strictly peer-reviewed and welcomes review articles, full papers, notes and communica- tions covering all major areas of chemistry: organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, and materials science. The publication language is English. The Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society is supported by The Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan, R.O.C. The online version of the Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society is now available on Wiley Online Library. COVER PICTURE In this paper, a new type of organic-inorganic hy- brid hydrogel was prepared under the condition of low air press using SiO nanoparticles as initiator. The products shows a novel microstructure and character- istics that increased salt resistance and proper water absorbency. The xerogel showed absorbencies of 102.8 g/g for 0.9 wt% NaCl solution, respective- ly.More details will be discussed by Dr. Haiwang Wang and his co-workers on page 157~293 in this issue.
