T he editors of this book are well‐established and respected authorities in the field of photogrammetry, and collectively their research careers cover a diversity of applications. This is reflected through the contents of this book, which are noteworthy for the variety of user applications considered. As highlighted at an early stage in the text, this book focuses on the application of photogrammetry for the measurement of 3D objects (as opposed to map production), and consequently the majority of the applications relate to close range implementations over a diversity of scales. The first chapter presents a well‐organised and concise introduction to photogrammetry, which includes a good overview of historical aspects, while concentrating chiefly on present‐day status in the age of digital photogrammetry. Chapter 2 introduces fundamental photogrammetric concepts in a general manner, while the next seven chapters are dedicated to specific application fields. Chapters 3 and 4 cover “Structural Monitoring” and “Engineering and Manufacture” respectively, while Chapter http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png The Photogrammetric Record Wiley
