It has an overall 5‐year survival rates for the 11 % patients with metastatic disease (Brody, ; Ferlay et al., ). Although various prognostic biomarkers have been discovered to predict clinical outcomes, the clinical applications of these biomarkers still needed to be validated (Sagaert, ).Small RNAs play an important role in regulating the expression of target genes. Small double‐stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) induced RNA activation (RNAa) is a novel approach of gene activation that has been studied gradually (Pan et al., ; Lopez et al., ). This class of dsRNA is named small activating RNA (saRNA), which binds to gene promoter sequences and leads to changes in chromatin structure and transcriptional activation (Place et al., ; Schwartz et al., ; Wang et al., ). Various saRNAs have been shown to activate a number of important genes, including NANOG (Wang et al., ), KLF4 (Wang et al., ; Voutila et al., ), c‐MYC (Voutila et al., ) etc. saRNAs might present a novel tool for stimulating endogenous gene expression without using the exogenous DNA
