Where the Water-Dogs Laughed: The Story of the Great Bear by Charles F. Price, published by High Country Publishers of Boone, North Carolina, was a finalist in the Historical Fiction category in the 2004 nationwide Independent Publisher Book Awards, commonly known as the IPPY awards. The Southeast Booksellers Association has announced the winners of the 2004 SEBA Book Awards. Locales, Poems from the Fellowship of Southern Writers edited by Fred Chappell won in the poetry division, and Robert Morgan's Brave Enemies and Terry Kay's The Valley of the Light were nominated in the novel division.
