Call for Book Review 00-N2925-FM 11/24/03 1:19 PM Page vi Call for Book Reviews In an attempt to generate greater dialogue, the American Indian Quarterly encourages its readers and all others interested in Indigenous issues to submit uninvited book reviews in both traditional and essay formats. Traditional re- views should be no longer than 1,500 words in length. Essay book reviews may incorporate one book, numerous books by the same author, or several pieces concerning a particular subject. Essays should be referenced according to the aiq style guide and should run no longer than 3,000 words. We are particularly concerned with books, reviews, and essays that deal directly with contempo- rary issues including, but not limited to, nation building, decolonization, in- ternational Indigenous issues, environmental issues, and cultural criticism. aiq reserves the right to edit and select those reviews that are appropriate for the journal.
