Abstract

Darren Morris poetr y "I'm a fairly fearful person. I've done some crazy shit in my life, but I was just as fearful then, only I was younger, and the fear was exhilarating. Nowadays, I believe in things like luck. I lie low. I don't know if I believe in the afterlife, but luck is a kind of afterlife. All of the future is afterlife, and I use my regular everyday fears to address it. Fear is the megaphone. "I put Cheney in heaven because he's my ultimate villain. I want to see him suffer as much as I want to apply Dante-style justice to his suffering. The heaven he envisions should be a place where he is made to confess by the same torture he encouraged during his life. That the administrators would take some pleasure in his torture is a nod toward the tyrant Phalaris, whose Sicilian bull would turn its victims' screams into a kind of beautiful music. But I'm democratic about it. I also put my parents in the conventional heaven and hell, even though all parties, including Cheney, are very much alive, as far as I know. "For me, personal fear is born
