Editors’ Note We are happy to share another issue of Asian Perspectives (vol. 56, issue 1) as we enter the year 2017 with on-time production of the journal. We are grateful to all peer reviewers and contributors who have labored to meet deadlines quickly and with high-quality results through rigorous yet timely reviews as well as thorough and care- ful revisions. Y itzchak Jaffe continued to provide us invaluable editorial assistance in the management of the submissions and reviews. Toward enhancing the journal’s ease of use for a broad readership, a few aspects have changed in the format and presentation. For instance, abstracts and keywords now are presented at the beginning of each research article for the most visibility. To honor cultural preferences and ensure proper citation, we are taking care to clarify the family names of all authors and distinguish them from personal names in the Table of Contents and title pages. Furthermore, color graphics continue to be available in the online versions of the journal.
