N THE COURSE OF OUR WORK the chylomicrs of young of old people (I-4), the problem suggested itself to test diabetic patients, because fat metabolism appears to be timately cnected with sul. The hyperlipemia ketosis of the diabetic are well known. Diabetic patients (5, 6) alloxan diabetic rats (7) derive benefit from a high fat diet, pancreatectomized rats did not show symptoms of diabetes so lg as they were kept a high fat diet (8). With the use of isotopic tracer elements (9, IO), sul appeared to crease fat synthesis rats. alloxan diabetic rats rabbits, synthesis of fats from glucose was less than normal ctrols, this could be reversed with sul (I I, I 2). A relati between diabetes arteriosclerosis is evident, our previous work suggested a relatiship between fat particles the blood arteriosclerosis (2).
