This regulatory pathway was characterized for its anion dependence, sensitivity to loop diuretics, and requirement for Na. The swellg-duced K flux was elimated if tracellular chloride was replaced by nitrate and both swellg-activated K flux and efflux werepartially hibited by 1 mM furosemide or bumetanide. K flux swollen CC was not dimished when Na the cubation medium was replaced with chole, dicatg Na dependence of the swellg-duced flux. Identical experiments with also demonstrated a swellgduced crease K flux, but the magnitude and duration of this crease were considerably less than that seen with CC . The creased K flux was likewise sensitive to anion replacement and to loop diuretics and did not require the presence of Na.
