FUZZY INFORMATION AND ENGINEERING 2019, VOL. 11, NO. 2, 239–240 https://doi.org/10.1080/16168658.2019.1919450 BULLETIN The Report on the 9th International Satellite Conference on Fuzzy Information and Engineering in Foshan Bingyuan Cao Foshan University, Foshan, People’s Republic of China Approved by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, hosted by the Information and Engineering Association (chips) and the Guangdong Institute of Operations Research and Foshan University, on December 27, 2018, the 9th International Satellite Conference was successfully held on Fuzzy Information and Engineering and the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Guangdong Institute of Operations Research, supported by the Foshan Science and Technology Association. As one of the series of academic conferences celebrating its 60th anniversary of the founding, this conference attracted more than 80 representatives from more than 10 universities and research institutions home and abroad. The conference aims to strengthen academics and continuously promoted the development of the field of fuzzy information and engineering. At the conference, Professor Zhifeng Hao, honorary chairman of the conference and the principal of Foshan University, gave a welcome speech and made a special academic report. The chairman of the conference, president of the Guangdong Institute of Operations Research, Professor Bingyuan Cao of Guangzhou University and the South second lecture professor of Foshan University, gave a welcome speech. Zhenhai Ge, Vice Chairman of Foshan Science and Technology Association attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Professor Xiaoquan Xu, the author of one hundred excellent doctoral papers and the associate dean of Nanchang Normal College, delivered a congratulatory speech. Prof. Haiwu Rong, Executive Dean of the College of Mathematics and Big Data at the Academy Sciences, of the university presided over the morning meeting. In the academic report entitled ‘Data Analysis and Intelligent Optimization in Urban Computing – Bionics, Unique Decomposition Theorem, and Prime Number’, Professor Zhifeng Hao used the wisdom city as an example to explain the importance of urban intelligent computing to teachers and students. He believed that data would be an impor- tant resource in the future, so urban computing was a research focus in wisdom cities. As long as the process of high urbanization, population movements are drastically increasing, the information resources have not been effectively utilised. The emergence of large- scale information processing and intelligent computing has become an urgent problem for urban computing. Zhifeng Hao introduced the problems and challenges faced by urban computing from three aspects: perceptual computing, cognitive computing, and decision-making computing, and he proposed solutions to them. He believed that due to the contradiction between the limited sensing ability and the comprehensive data acquisition demand in the city, it was impossible to obtain high-quality urban large-scale CONTACT Bingyuan Cao j ifiecao@163.com © 2021 The Author(s). CAO spatio-temporal data to perceive computing. Therefore, a reasonable perceptual network system should be established and a large-scale sensing network should be established to deploy and cover to solve deep perception issues in complex urban environments. President Hao’s report received a warm welcome from the participants. At the meeting, first-person realized four inverted pendulums in the world, Prof. Hongxing Li from Dalian University of Technology made a special report entitled ‘Fuzzy System to Quantum Mechanics’. Prof. Honghai Mi from Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Branch who made a PPT demonstration of four inverted pendulums and their wonderful performance of self-made fuzzy controlled unmanned bike were warmly welcomed. Hadi Nasseri, Vice President of the Iranian Operations Research Institute, Iran National Elite Fund Award, Professor of Mazandaran University of Iran and Distinguished Professor of Foshan Institute of Technology, gave a report entitled ‘A multi parametric approach for the flexi- ble fuzzy mathematical models’. Professor Chen Shuili of Jimei University reported on the key technology research of the fuzzy recognition system for abnormal human behaviour. Entitled A Method to Mine Temporal Association Rules in Attributed Graph Sequence is the report of Professor Yu Fusheng of Beijing Normal University. The report of ‘The Humanoid Learning Model for Fuzzy Complex Value Information’ was given by Professor Ma Shengquan of Hainan Normal University. The report of Dr SKHayat of Pakistan University of Guangzhou is Agreggation Operators GIFSSs. The International Conference on Fuzzy Information and Engineering is an important meeting held every two years in the field of international fuzzy academics. The fuzziness problem was first proposed by L. A. Zadeh in 1965. Fuzzy mathematics has been used to deal with fuzzy information. By use of methods such as abstraction, generalization, synthe- sis and reasoning, Fuzzy information is not unreliable information, since in the objective world, there are a lot of vague phenomena, such as ‘two people are like each other’ and ‘good to look good’, we know the boundaries are vague, and people’s experience is also vague. Fuzzy information and engineering are specialized in engineering calculations by processing uncertain information to extract as reliable information as possible. This profes- sional application has a wide range of applications and plays a major role in missile satellite launching, oil and gas exploration and development evaluation, and the division of oil and gas water as well. The conference was divided into three groups and reported on fuzzy information and engineering, operation management and many other issues. During the conference, the editorial board convened an enlarged editorial meeting of the ESCI Journal Fuzzy Infor- mation and Engineering. The meeting was chaired by the editor-in-chief Professor Cao Bing-yuan, the deputy editor-in-chief Professor Xu Xiaoquan, the field editor Professor Hadi Nasiri, the guest editors Professor Li Hongxing and Professor Mi Honghai attended the meeting. In the meeting, everyone put forward a lot of good constructive opinions on how to support and publish a good magazine. On December 29, at the International Satellite Conference Academic Salon, The Inter- national Fuzzy Information and Engineering Association Journal, China Operations Research Institute Fuzzy Information and Engineering Branch, Guangdong Operation Research Soci- ety and China Guangdong-Hongkong-Macow Operation Research Society Journal, and China Science and Education Pressed book exhibition. Guangdong Operation Research Soci- ety Board of Directors meeting, China Guangdong-Hongkong-Macow Operation Research Society Council closed successfully after the meeting. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Fuzzy Information and Engineering Taylor & Francis
