In the production and operations management field there are a number of texts of this sort: for example, the book by Buffa from Wiley, or that by Schroeder from McGraw Hill. Krajewski and Ritzman's book is of exactly this type. The title, 'Operations Management', is the term increasingly being used to describe what used to be called production management; the change of name reflects the fact that the techniques and approaches originally developed for the manufacturing sector are often just as valid in the service industries.
