College Teaching EXECUTIVE EDITORS Barbara J. Millis Scott P. Millis, now retired, is the former director of four teaching and learning centers. She is a frequent presenter on academic topics at colleges, universities, and conferences. She is the co-author of four books: with Philip Cottell, Cooperative Learning for Higher Education Faculty (1998); Using Simulations to Enhance Learning in Higher Education (2002), co-authored with John Hertel; a revision of Judith Grunert’s The Course Syllabus: A Learning-Centered Approach (2008), co-authored with Margaret Cohen; and Cooperative Learning in Higher Education: Across the Disciplines, Across the Academy (2010). Scott P. Simkins is the Director of the Academy for Teaching and Learning at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. He has published articles, book chapters, and books on pedagogical innovation, and he is a frequent presenter on scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) topics at workshops and conferences. Over the past decade he has co-led multiple projects, funded by the National Science Foundation, that explore the adaptability of teaching innovations across disciplines.
