This is an updated version of the Al-Masaq style sheet published in volume 14, i (2002): 73–76. Clear and accurate citation and a consistent and acceptable style are the responsibility of the author. Please follow the guidelines below: Preferred fonts PC users are requested to submit articles in Arial Unicode MS font. AppleMac users are requested to submit articles in Lucida Grande font. 1.0 Spelling conventions 1.1 Use modern English UK spelling. 1.2 Use -ise, not-ize. 1.3 Use Arabic terminology and proper names in transcription, not Anglicised versions. e.g. Salah al-Din; Ibrahim; the Qur8an. ¯ ¯ ¯ _ _ 1.4 For well-known nouns or hydrid terms which are also in non-academic usage, or can be found in a standard English dictionary, use the English form.
