Zoogeographical subdivision of the Sea of Okhotsk was carried out using computer methods for plotting a map that describes the spatial distribution of the quantitative biogeographical index in the form of a continuous field. The latitudinal zoning status of a species, i.e., the type of species area in a latitudinal zoning scheme, is such a biogeographical index. Verbally formulated types of species areas were converted into digital data by means of a specially developed conformity scale. Computer mapping of the region was performed based on generalized data, intraday and interannual time issues, as well as trawling depths.
