The catalytic activity of Cp ZrCl and other structurally related 2 2 metallocenes are attributed to their Lewis acidic character [2, 3]. Despite the interesting catalytic potential of Cp ZrCl , its applications in organic synthesis 2 2 are scarcely reported [4–6].
