Results of industrial testing of an ultrasonic shadow method for inspecting molded bases of PSP-96 sliding shutters are presented. It is found that the main quality index of the raw material for bases of sliding plates is its strength. Ultrasonic grading of the raw material is shown to be highly effective and permits a substantial decrease in the fraction of rejected pieces after firing.
