Eur J Plast Surg (2001) 24:187 DOI 10.1007/s002380100281 AUTHOR’S REPLY Eric van den Kerckhove The influence of different occlusive plates on the erythema of hypertrophic scars; by E. van den Kerckhove, et al. Published online: 31 July 2001 © Springer-Verlag 2001 I strongly agree with the content of Professor Donati’s Invited Commentary. I would like to stress the fact that my article supports the added value of using a combination of silicone and pressure to heal scars. Only the silicone- compressed scars resulted in a diminished erythema response.
