Abstract

Results of testing the side-wall lining made up from nitride-bonded silicon-carbide plates for an aluminum electrolysis cell equipped with pre-fired anodes are reported. Technical and economic characteristics of the performance of electrolysis cells equipped with the newly-designed lining are superior to those of standard electrolysis cells equipped with the carbon-block refractory lining.
