Results of introduction of a technology of mullite-corundum refractories with partial replacement of alumina by normal electrocorundum sludge is described. The process of joint milling of alumina and sludge, the firing of chamotte, and the properties of the products are described in detail. It is shown that replacement of up to 20% alumina by sludge provides products that meet the requirements of GOST 24704-94 and saves up to 15% gaseous fuel.
