Synthesis and evaluation of PAMAM dendrimer and PDPF-b-POP block copolymer as asphaltene... The main target of our research is to synthesize polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimer and poly(dodecyl phenol formaldehyde)-b-poly(oxypropylene) block copolymer (PDPF-b-POP) for the asphaltene precipitation problem and the performance of some asphaltene inhibitors/dispersant for a heavy crude oil provided by the General Petroleum Company, Hossia field (Ras Gharib, Egyptian eastern desert). The dispersants/inhibitors dendrimer was synthesized by a divergent method to produce PAMAM star-shape ester-terminated (G 2.5) and star-shape amine-terminated (G 3), and PDPF-b-POP was synthesized by condensation polymerization to produce different molecular weights of PDPF-b-POP. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated as asphaltene inhibitors/dispersants at different dose concentrations (100, 500, and 1,000 ppm) using UV, DLS, and rheological properties of the crude oil techniques. The molecular weights were determined by GPC. The size and the shape morphology of the dendrimer was confirmed by DLS and HRTEM. The chemical structure of the prepared compounds was confirmed by IR and 1H NMR. The crude oil was analyzed by GC. Research on Chemical Intermediates Springer Journals
