Surface plasmon of gold nanoparticle on diatom template

Abstract In this research, we fabricate the gold nanoparticles by bottom-up procedure.
The gold nanoparticles are fabricated onto the functionalized diatom frustules by self-
assemble process. The sample was being a series of measurements and simulation, which
help us to clarify the detail of the complex structure, gold nanoparticles on the diatom
template, and realize trapping, scattering, and local ﬁled enhancement of diatom frustules.
And describing the inﬂuence of gold nanoparticle on diatom frustules both experimental
and simulating. The simulating of propagating electromagnetic wave and the enhancement
effect of diatom frustules with and without gold nanoparticles in the structure with ﬁnite
difference time domain method give us a more straightforward pictures for the inﬂuence of
the diatom frustules between gold nanoparticles.

Synthesis of nanostructured materials onto complex morphologies is an important issue for
modern researches topics, such as metallic material (Pan et al. 2016), photoelectric
applications (Chen and Yang 2016; Kim et al. 2016; Tsai et al. 2016a, b), energy con-
version (Su et al. 2016; Tu et al. 2016), and storage devices (Arico et al. 2005; Jeon et al.
2014; Kameya and Hanamura 2011; She et al. 2017; Xuan et al. 2014). Countless systems
