Subtidal Underwater Rock Communities of the White Sea: Structure and Interaction with Bottom Flow The taxonomic composition and quantitative characteristics of typical subtidal rock communities of the White Sea (biocenosis of Laminaria and biocenosis of Lithothamnion and the sponges Polymastia arctica) were studied. The hydrodynamic activity of the near-bottom water layer within and beyond the communities was estimated using the plaster structures technique.
