Results obtained in a study of the physicochemical properties (porosity and acid-base properties of the surface) of aluminum hydroxides produced by solid-phase hydrolysis of aluminum salts are presented. A conclusion is made on the basis of the data obtained that these hydroxides have a higher adsorption capacity and reactivity as compared with the industrially manufactured aluminum hydroxide, which predetermines the promise of using these products in manufacture of catalysts, sorbents, ceramics, binders, and other materials.
