Structure and Properties of Polyurethane Ionomer Blends with Polyaminourethane Binary blends of segmented polyetherurethanes were prepared from oligooxytetramethylene glycol, toluylene diisocyanate, and a chain extender (p-hydroxybenzoic acid magnesium salt or N-methyldiethanolamine). The nature of intermolecular interactions in the blends of various compositions was studied by IR spectroscopy. Depending on the formulation of the blends, various kinds of microstructural organization exist (as demonstrated by low-angle X-ray scattering data), strongly influencing the mechanical characteristics of polyurethane blends.
