We investigate the effects of delayed feedback on the stabilization of a propagating wave segment by introducing a dynamical subsystem in the parameter space. This method aims to automatically find the critical excitability boundary between excitable region and subexcitable region. A simple kinematic analysis of wave front provides a qualitative explanation of the effects of delayed feedback on the stabilization of wave segments.
