Special features of sintering of aerosol powders

Special features of sintering of aerosol powders A comparative analysis of the sinterability of ultradisperse single-crystal powders of tetragonal zirconia with single-crystal particles and coarser powders of the same composition produced by spray pyrolysis and consisting of polycrystalline particles is conducted. It is shown that despite the comparatively large size of the particles, the efficiencies of the sintering processes of such powders and ultradisperse powders are comparable. The density of the material in the final sintering stage exceeds that of the material obtained from ultradisperse single-crystal powders. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Springer Journals

Abstract

A comparative analysis of the sinterability of ultradisperse single-crystal powders of tetragonal zirconia with single-crystal particles and coarser powders of the same composition produced by spray pyrolysis and consisting of polycrystalline particles is conducted. It is shown that despite the comparatively large size of the particles, the efficiencies of the sintering processes of such powders and ultradisperse powders are comparable. The density of the material in the final sintering stage exceeds that of the material obtained from ultradisperse single-crystal powders.
