Fabrication of the Pd–Pd5Ba secondary-emission cathodes is considered. The parameters of the physicochemical processes responsible for restructuring the surface of the field-emission cathode’s working edges upon activation of the secondary-emission cathodes are determined. It is demonstrated that emission from cathodes initiates generation in magnetrons with a nonincandescent launch.
