Highlights included: • a tutorial introduction to interval techniques, in the evening immediately follow- ing the SIAM Conference on Optimization and immediately preceding Validated Computing 2002 (we thank George Corliss); • an awarding of the 2002 Moore Prize for the best application of interval com- putations; • a banquet honoring Ramon Moore for his ground-breaking work in interval analysis.
