A DNA fragment was amplified from genomic DNA prepared from 3-day-old mycelial cultures using degenerate primers (9501, 9506) based on the partial amino acid sequences, and a full length genomic clone was isolated from a DASH II genomic library using the amplified DNA fragment as a probe. Trivial name: Nep1, encodes necrosis and ethylene inducing peptide (NEP1) from Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. erythroxyli. Description: The coding sequence consists of two exons interrupted by a single intron of 58 nucleotides, and encodes a protein of 253 amino acids. A TATA box occurs at137 to132, multiple transcription start sites at 107 to 93, and a putative polyadenylation signal at C970 to C975.
