Sequence anouncement GenBank accession #: AF116239 Authors: Tsai CC, Huang SC , Sheu CS, Chiu YS Address: Crops Improvement Division, Taichung District Agricultural Improvement Station, Chang Hua County, Taiwan 515 ( author for correspondence) Source of sequence: Sequence was determined from a PCR product, which was ligated to a T-vector, from genomic DNA of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat ‘Red Gafe’. Trivial name: Sequence of a 5.8S rRNA gene and of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) from Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat ‘Red Gafe’. Description: In total, the sequence contains 26 bp of 18S rRNA gene, 638 bp of ITS region, and 36 bp of 26S rRNA gene. The ITS region includes ITS1, 5.8S rRNA gene, and ITS2. The lengths are 253 bp, 164 bp, and 221 bp, respectively. The lengths of ITS1, 5.8S rRNA gene, and ITS2 in Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat ‘Red Gafe’ are typical of the corresponding region with other higher plants. Acknowledgement: The project was granted by the National Science Council of Taiwan. Figure 1. Nucleotide sequence of a 5.8S rRNA gene and of internal transcribed spacer from Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat ‘Red Gafe’. 0 0 Positions of rRNA genes, i.e. the 3 end of 18S rRNA gene, 5.8S rRNA gene, and the 5 end of 26S rRNA gene, are boxed. The ITS1 is located between 18S rRNA gene and 5.8S rRNA gene, and ITS2 between 5.8S rRNA gene and 26S rRNA gene.
