The rhythmic structure of productive sylvinite lode in the Gremyachinsk potash deposit is considered. Data are obtained on the composition of the potash horizon in two holes drilled on the northern and southern flanks of the deposit. Two types of rhythmicity are established in the sylvinites: one type is formed by halogenic processes; the other, by the influx of terrigenous material. It is revealed that the sylvinite horizon in the northern and southern parts of the deposit differs in the mineral composition and conditions of formation. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Lithology and Mineral Resources Springer Journals

Abstract

The rhythmic structure of productive sylvinite lode in the Gremyachinsk potash deposit is considered. Data are obtained on the composition of the potash horizon in two holes drilled on the northern and southern flanks of the deposit. Two types of rhythmicity are established in the sylvinites: one type is formed by halogenic processes; the other, by the influx of terrigenous material. It is revealed that the sylvinite horizon in the northern and southern parts of the deposit differs in the mineral composition and conditions of formation.
