The invention pertains to chemical ceramics technology,
specifically to the fabrication of ceramic articles consisting
of a material with composite fibrous structure which is used
as high-temperature filtration elements and thermal insula-
tion. The technical result is an increase in the performance of
the filtration element and in its chemical resistance in chlo-
1. A method of fabrication of a ceramic filtration ele-
ment with fibrous structure, comprising dispersion of ce-
ramic fibers until a given ratio L/d is attained, preparation of
a suspension from ceramic fibers, ceramic binder, and me-
dium, deposition, drying, and roasting, that is distinguished
by the fact that preparation of the suspension is realized
through the creation of a colloidal solution of silica sol in a
dispersed acid medium. Mullite fibers are then added, ho-
mogenization performed, and binder in the form of a micellar
system with the use of a starch is added to the resulting sus-
pension, and homogenization is then performed. Roasting is
realized in the interval of temperatures within which the
a-tridymite form of silica sol is formed.

a dispersed acidic medium with pH above 2.5 is used.

the colloidal solution of silica sol contains particles measur-
ing 2–10 nm in dimension.

A method of graphitization of formed-carbon products
comprising packing of the products by means of parallel can-
dles between current leads, electrical connection of the cur-
rent leads by means of cables perpendicular to the axes of the
candles as well as heating of the products to the graphiti-
zation temperature by passage of an electric current through
the heated products, that is distinguished by the fact that cop-
per buses with a flexible connection to the current leads
serve as the cables. The cables are mounted on the outside of
the furnace in contact with the surface of the graphite current
leads while the copper cables are processed mechanically,
clamping of the copper cables to the graphite current leads is
realized with constant force at least 1.5 MPa while the can-
dles of the formed-carbon products are compressed on both
sides by means of hydraulic cylinders, the force of which is
transmitted by means of the current leads.
