Recap of Ninth Conference on Financial Economics and Accounting CHENG-FEW LEE Rutgers University The Ninth Conference on Financial Economics and Accounting was held at New York University, Stem School of Business November 6 and 7, 1998. The result was outstanding. After nine years, this conference has already become one of the most prestigious academic conferences in ®nance and accounting both nationally and internationally. See the attached program for the details of the two-day event. During the third conference, it was decided that six universities would host on a rotating basis. This year, the University of Texas at Austin was added to the list of host universities making a total of seven. In 1993, the conference was held at Washington University in St. Louis on October 1 and 2. In 1994 the conference was held at the University of Michigan; and the following year, 1995, the conference was at the University of Maryland.
