Quality control of poly(methylphenyl)siloxanes by liquid chromatography and NMR spectroscopy A procedure based on liquid chromatography and NMR spectroscopy was developed for controlling the quality of poly(methylphenyl)siloxanes prepared in industry by chemical ring opening of cyclosiloxanes with three (A3) and four (A4) units. The suggested procedure allows rapid analysis of poly(methylphenyl)siloxanes with determination of the following parameters: residual content of A3 and A4, overall molecular-weight distribution, fractional composition, and molecular characteristics. Abstract
