Pseudomonas tamsuii TKU015 produced insecticidal materials using squid pen as the sole carbon and nitrogen source. The insecticidal activity of the produced metabolites was evaluated against Drosophila melanogaster larvae. The growth of P. tamsuii TKU015 was accompanied by increased mortality. SDS-PAGE showed the molecular weight of the insecticidal toxin of P. tamsuii TKU015 to be 94.7 kDa, corresponding to the TccC insecticidal protein from P. taiwanensis TKU015. These results showed that P. tamsuii TKU015 could be applicable in controlling Drosophila for developing novel biopesticides in organic agriculture.
