The conference was sponsored by National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) and supported by Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology (KAST). The NIMS conference has been organized since 2002, with the aim of covering the latest developments in one of the important research fields in Materials Science. Succeeding the 1st NIMS Conference on Materials Solution for Photonics, the 2nd NIMS Conference 2004 was planned to focus on the recent topics of Photocatalysis, in the home of the Honda–Fujishima Effect. Research and development of photocatalysis have extensively been performed worldwide to find solutions for energy and environmental problems. Especially applications of TiO photocatalysis to environmental clean-up, such as air and water purification, self cleaning, etc., have been showing promising potential. The 2nd NIMS Conference successfully promoted interactions between experts from academy, research institutions and industry who are engaged in photocatalysis research, development, application and all others, and provided a forum for the http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Research on Chemical Intermediates Springer Journals
