Abstract

Several structural indices of phytoplankton in the protected shallows of Volzhskii reach of the Rybinsk Reservoir in the zone impacted by the nesting colony of black-headed gulls (Larus ridibundus L.) are analyzed. The study reveals transformations of phytoplankton in the affected zone: an increase in total biomass, a decrease in species and relative richness, and an increase in the biomass of euglenophytes, cryptophytes and dinoflagellates. Revealed transformations are similar to the changes that usually occur at the anthropogenic eutrophication.
