Conducting polymeric Cu(II) complexes with aromatic azomethines derived from salicylic and 3-methoxysalicylic aldehydes exhibit photovoltaic activity. The effect exerted on the photopotential of the modified electrodes by the layer thickness, redox state of the polymers, and electron-donor and electron-acceptor components introduced into the supporting electrolyte solution is examined.
