Optimizing the Conditions for Pre-Start Heating of the Refractory Lining of Steel-Teeming Ladles An energy-saving dry-out technology for the refractory lining of steel-teeming ladles with a thermal efficiency of 45 – 50% is developed. This technology provides high heat resistance of the lining to meet stringent requirements placed on the dry-out, preheating, and temperature regime of lined vessels. Abstract

An energy-saving dry-out technology for the refractory lining of steel-teeming ladles with a thermal efficiency of 45 – 50% is developed. This technology provides high heat resistance of the lining to meet stringent requirements placed on the dry-out, preheating, and temperature regime of lined vessels. Positive results for the technology tested under industrial conditions are reported.
