TiO2/CdS heterojunctions with enhanced visible light activity were synthesized by a one-pot hydrothermal method. Structural investigation by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy indicated that TiO2/CdS nanojunctions with a diameter of 43 nm were uniformly prepared. Abstract

TiO2/CdS heterojunctions with enhanced visible light activity were synthesized by a one-pot hydrothermal method. Structural investigation by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy indicated that TiO2/CdS nanojunctions with a diameter of 43 nm were uniformly prepared. The results showed that the photocatalytic activity of TiO2/CdS heterojunctions under solar light was better than that of TiO2 nanoparticles.
