The 1999 Chromosome 3 committee report includes 1031 loci that
have been asigned to this chromosome. During the past year 73
new loci have been mapped to Chr 3, including 41 new genes. As
in previous years new loci have been integrated into the previous
map with the primary objective of maintaining an accurate order.
A few loci have been repositioned this year, in the majority of
cases the position has altered by only a few centimorgans as a
consequence of new mapping data. The one exception being Fgb,
which has been repositioned at 48.2 cM after being incorrectly
placed at 18.5 cM in previous reports.
Acknowledgments. The authors would like to thank The Jackson Labora-
tory Informatics Group for providing relevant data, electronic references,

ments, corrections, and suggestions (email firstname.lastname@example.org).
