Lipid packaged iron(II) complex of [Fe(C C C -trz) ](C -Glu) (1) [C C C -trz = 4′,5‴-decyl-1‴-(heptadecyloxy)- 5 10 12 3 12 2 5 10 12 1,2,4-triazole, C -Glu = 4-(1,3-bis-dodecyloxycarbonyl-propylcarbamoyl)-benzenesulfonic acid] have been successfully synthesized and characterized using TEM, DSC, PXRD and magnetic susceptibility. It was observed that lipid packaged compound displayed liquid crystalline phase at room temperature. Furthermore, lipid packaged compound exhibited spin crossover phenomena accompanying the phase transition from liquid crystalline to liquid crystalline. Keywords Iron(II) · Lipid amphiphile · Spin-crossover · Liquid crystalline Introduction chain showed liquid crystalline phase at 233 K and abrupt spin crossover behavior at T = 250 K . 1/2 Self-assembly of metal complexes have attracted much atten- Hereby, in the present study, we mainly focused lipid tion as can be applied to the development of multi-functional amphiphiles as a method for self-assembly of metal com- materials [1, 2].
